Your role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Engineering to build and grow a world-class engineering organization in India from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to establish a high-performing engineering center of excellence and drive significant impact for WMG's technology initiatives. The successful candidate will have a proven history of developing and expanding engineering teams, strong technical skills, and outstanding leadership and communication abilities. This role will collaborate closely with North American Engineering leadership to synchronize strategies, processes, and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Team Building and Growth:
-Establish and develop the engineering organization in India from scratch, including opening and setting up a new office
-Recruit, hire, and retain top-tier engineering talent and engineering managers
-Develop and implement effective onboarding and training programs
-Foster and model positive behaviors that support a high-performing culture rooted in curiosity, commitment, and collaboration
Strategic Leadership and Ownership:
-Define and execute the strategic plan for the engineering organization in India, aligning with WMG's overall technology vision and goals
-Collaborate with Engineering leadership in North America to define priorities, roadmaps, and deliverables
-Establish and maintain strong communication channels with stakeholders in North America
-Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and practices
Operational Management:
-Oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering organization in India
-Establish clear performance metrics and strategies for talent management in partnership with the People Team
-Manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively
-Implement and enforce best practices for software development, testing, and deployment
About You:
-Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
-At least 10 years of leadership experience
-Proven ability to operationally manage organizations of up to 100 people
-Experience in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent
-Strong technical background and understanding of software development lifecycle
-Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment
