We are a small unit but have all the benefits of the Cleveland Clinic. There are a multitude of learning opportunities both onsite and off throughout the year. This LPN role would require the candidate to be trained in 3 different roles within the department-Pre/post op, GI tech role assisting MD during procedures and scope reprocessing. 

 

Caregivers work flexible 10-hour shifts starting between 8–9 a.m. One staff member arrives at 6:30 a.m. to prep for the first 7:00 a.m. patient. The last patient is seen at 4:00 p.m., with average hours around 8 a.m.–5 p.m. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Collect, document and report patient data and observations.  

  • Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.  

  • Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.    

  • Perform routine laboratory tests. 

  • Educate patients and family members.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program 

  • Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse   

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross 

  • Must have experience with IV’s and inserting them in patients 

  • One Year of patient care experience  

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.

  • Involves extensive standing and walking.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
