The Position

As a Record to Report Capital Lease Accounting Analyst, you will execute operational activities for the Americas RSS based in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will be responsible for fixed asset accounting duties including monthly reporting and analysis for affiliates.

  • You are taking responsibility for the end-to-end fixed asset process, including classification, useful life, acquisitions, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and reporting.

  • You are performing complex analysis and audits of accounting transactions, processes, and interrelationships.

  • You are identifying complex accounting issues, researching, and implementing plans for accounting processes in accordance with company policies.

  • You are serving as the key contact to affiliates for fixed assets accounting processes and sharing expertise as an internal resource for colleagues.

  • You are preparing monthly fixed asset reconciliations, IFRS16 accounts, and monthly roll-forward reports.

  • You are responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions impacting fixed assets and lease accounting processes.

  • You are preparing commentary or explanations relating to significant report items and recommending management actions based on account investigations.

Who you are:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent business experience.

  • You possess 3+ years of accounting experience in the Fixed Assets area with proven knowledge in accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).

  • You are characterized by strong analytical and accuracy skills with a high attention to detail and ability to prioritize work effectively.

  • You are fluent in English and Spanish.

  • You are proficient in computerized environments, including Excel, G-Suite, and SAP Modules (i.e., FI, FA, MM).

Preferred:

  • IAS Certification (i.e., CPA, ACCA etc.) is preferred.
