The position provides the opportunity to gain exposure and experience working (with/in) residential and day program settings, alongside the leadership team on document retention projects. The students can expect to do work such as working with people we support information and assisting with document retention archiving projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their knowledge and experience with document-filling systems, organization, and technology along with HIPAA and compliance laws.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with document retention on going tasks.
• Assist with sorting and organization files and records in accordance with the document retention and destruction policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:
• Punctual and disciplined
• Organizational skills
• Detailed oriented
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work alone or with a group
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Prior experience working for an office/ clinical office setting preferred.
• Any classes pertaining to health information management preferred.

INTERN WILL LEARN/DEVELOP:
• Data entry

• HIPAA Compliance Laws

WORK SCHEDULE:
DAYS/TIME: A schedule will be worked out between the student and position supervisor, however day/hours worked will need to be between Monday and Friday and between 8:30am and 5:00pm

This is an unpaid internship opportunity that is only open to current students. The internship may be able to satisfy course credit if approved by the student's institution of learning.
