We are looking for a skilled and innovative Cell Process Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and scaling up the manufacturing processes for battery cells. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in battery technology and process engineering, with experience in improving prototype line efficiency, quality, and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Design, develop, and optimize battery cell manufacturing processes at the laboratory scale. Focus on refining techniques to improve efficiency, yield, and cell performance.
  • Conduct process simulations and analyses to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
  • Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure manufacturability of new battery cell designs, providing feedback and guidance on design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors to select, customize, and commission equipment, ensuring optimal integration with process workflows.
  • Develop detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials
  • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement
  • Manage the lab raw materials supplies and plan related logistics ahead

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a cell process development role, preferably in the battery or related high-tech industries.
  • Strong technical skills in pouch cell design, process development in laboratory line or prototype line
  •  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of battery cell chemistry, design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in process optimization and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in engineering software and tools (e.g., MATLAB, AutoCAD).

 

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.

Expected Pay Range
$120,000$160,000 USD
