Responsible for new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory. Builds and manages relationships with current customers, identifies new customers and develops relationships for the purpose of selling assigned Varian products. Under minimal supervision, performs all sales functions in assigned territory, including: analyzes territory for sales potential; develops and implements effective sales strategies; maintains appropriate level of territory coverage; plans and executes effective sales calls; schedules and performs product demonstrations; manages the sales order/quotation process; serves as a consultative resource to customers; achieves superior level of overall customer satisfaction; provides regular customer and market feedback to company. Represents Varian ethics, values and business practices with all internal and external constituents. Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only: Position must have full access to VMS client sites to perform the essential functions of this position. Many VMS clients require VMS employees and representatives to meet certain Vendor Credentialing requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites. Unless prohibited by law, position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access, and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of VMS employment in this position.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Review and synthesize key priorities to identify areas for regional growth, and support identification of SW-SSA and HW Revenue business opportunities to develop a strong, diversified pipeline trough Indirect Operations.
  • Collaborate with country teams and Varian service sales areas to develop concept notes and proposals that incorporate best practices from region core areas of expertise for SSA – Software Support Agreements
  • Oversees Capture Rate Growth of all Varian Oncology products on Linear accelerators, Oncology information systems, Treatment Planning Systems and Brachytherapy. 
  • Achieve annual and quarterly achievement of multiple order and revenue targets through accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting, by prioritizing selling time to generate sales volume, achieve account penetration and complete territory coverage.
  • Develop account penetration strategies for key target and competitive accounts and communicating current market intelligence back to the business, along with field concerns, issues and requirements.
  • Providing leadership in market analysis and development/execution of strategies and action plans to drive product sales.
  • Validate and book Service Contracts or Purchase Orders and generating Invoices.
  • Prepare Service Contract quotations in partnership with the Service Manager and acquire appropriate approvals. (CPQ- Sales force)
  • Drive the Service Contract renewal process; by preparing and reviewing quotes with stakeholders, sending quotes to customers and validating and booking orders in the system.
  • Process warranty contracts.
  • Drive the quote and tender process until submission of the tender documents.
  • Input and maintain the accuracy of customer related data in SAP.
  • Respond to customer inquiries (both internal and external) in a timely manner.
  • Develop and submit monthly reports and forecasts, as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team building activities.

Skills and competencies:

  • Clinical background, either Dosimetrist, RTT or Medical Physicist
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) and/or 5 years of related experience. Master’s degree desirably but not required.
  • Excellent fluency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory. Fluency in other languages desirable but not required.
  • Effective interpersonal & presentation skills.
  • Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent attention to procedural detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work independently, this role will be largely a standalone role, with your manager being in a different country and location. Make decisions within the scope of this role and adhere to the corporate policies and procedures.
  • Have an overall understanding of customer care and experience management.
  • Be a critical thinker with a clear communication style who is pro-active, logical, analytical and results oriented.
  • Have an understanding of value-based selling.
  • Must understand team collaboration in a matrix environment and have effective networking/relationship building skills at all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
