Educate! is a team of over 300 largely African staff and 300 volunteer youth mentors. Position Overview

Educate! the largest youth skills service provider in East Africa, is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team in Tanzania. We are looking for an Operations Coordinator who is excited and passionate about ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Educate!’s Tanzania office. This position will be responsible for managing the procurement processes, overseeing visitor and vendor interactions, and handling purchases to support our programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting Educate!’s mission to impact youth.

Performance Objectives

Procurement Management

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts according to Educate!’s cost culture, and establish strong relationships to secure favorable terms.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier evaluations.

Visitor and Vendor Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience while adhering to the health and safety standards of Educate!
Coordinate logistics for visitor arrivals, including transportation, accommodations, and meeting schedules.
Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely delivery of services and resolving any issues that may arise.

Purchasing and Inventory Control

Oversee the purchasing process, from identifying needs to receiving and inspecting goods.
Monitor and manage office inventory levels, ensuring essential supplies are always available.
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with organizational policies and budgetary constraints.

Administrative Support and Event Management

Assist in organizing company events, training sessions, and meetings as needed.
Maintain and update office records, ensuring confidentiality and security of data.
Collaborate with team members to support various operational tasks and projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in operations, procurement, or administrative roles.
Strong understanding of procurement processes and vendor management.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with procurement software.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
