The Role

AspenTech is seeking a highly strategic and process-driven Manager, Marketing Operations to drive organizational interlock, technology value, and operational efficiency across our Marketing department. Reporting directly to the Sr Director, Digital Experiences and Marketing Operations, this role is the central catalyst for cross-functional efficiency and the strategic management of our technology stack. You will ensure we maximize the value of every technology investment, manage complex integrations, and guarantee alignment with our strategic goals.

Your Impact

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the primary interlock and facilitator between all Marketing Operations pillars (MarTech, Lead Management, Digital Experiences) and core business partners (Finance, Procurement, and IT), ensuring standardized, friction-free processes.
  • Complex Integrations & Projects: Lead the operational project management for all major cross-functional initiatives, including business unit collaboration and alignment projects, major platform upgrades, and system integrations.
  • M&A/Integration Operational Support: Manage the operational support for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Integrations, focusing specifically on budgets, vendor and process harmonization, and integration tracking.
  • Process Control: Administer and champion the Work Management Platform (Workfront). Define standardized project templates, manage resource capacity, and ensure consistent project tracking to drive operational speed and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Project manage implementations, upgrades and functionality upgrades to existing and new marketing technologies
  • Value Maximization: Partner with technology owners to assess and prove the Return on Investment (ROI) for major MarTech platforms, ensuring the organization is fully leveraging licensed features and capabilities.
  • Vendor Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of all marketing technology contracts, including negotiation, strategic renewal planning, and adherence to legal and security compliance.
  • MarTech Roadmap: Collaborate on the development and maintenance of the long-term MarTech roadmap, identifying strategic gaps, consolidation opportunities, and new technology requirements that maximize platform effectiveness.
  • Budget Management: Own and manage the entire Marketing department’s operational and capital expenditure budget, tracking actuals against forecasts and managing accruals.
  • Financial Execution: Lead the purchasing process, ensuring all technology spend is correctly classified and executed in compliance with internal financial procedures.

What You'll Need

  • Organizational Agility: Proven ability to drive complex processes and build consensus across highly specialized, sometimes competing, functions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate operational friction and platform usage into strategic recommendations that improve efficiency and prove technology value.
  • Integration Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving complex cross-system or cross-business unit integration and harmonization.
  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic Marketing Operations, Sales Operations, or central business operations role.
  • Expert experience administering or leading a Work Management Platform (WMP) like Workfront is required, along with deep proficiency in using it for resource and project management.
  • Extensive experience managing large departmental budgets and negotiating technology contracts.
  • Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional integration projects (M&A integration experience is beneficial but not the sole focus).
  • Strong understanding of the modern MarTech stack and the purpose of core platforms (Marketing Automation, CRM, BI).
