We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our Global Research Informatics team and lead the technology ecosystem for Amgen’s Research Materials Management (RMM). Additionally, this role will bridge the gap between IT and Amgen Research across the broader scientific data/technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate will analyze, design, and support the implementation of software solutions that meet the unique needs of our scientific research teams. They will provide technical support, training, and infrastructure management for informatics platforms across the molecule discovery ecosystem and ensure it meets the needs of our research community.
Responsibilities:
Function as a Scientific Business Systems Analyst within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) product team
Serve as a liaison between global Research Informatics functional areas and global research scientists, prioritizing their needs and expectations
Manage a suite of custom internal platforms, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, and systems integrations
Lead the technology ecosystem for Research Materials Management (RMM) and ensure that the platform meets their requirements for sample management and data integrity
Translate complex scientific and technological needs into clear, actionable requirements for development teams
Develop and maintain a product roadmap that clearly outlines the planned features and enhancements, timelines, and milestones
Identify and manage risks associated with the systems, including technological risks, scientific validation, and user acceptance
Develop documentations, communication plans and training plans for end users
Ensure operational excellence, cybersecurity and compliance.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
Preferred Qualifications:
BS, MS or PhD in life sciences, computer science or engineering
3+ years of experience in implementing and managing scientific software platforms, especially for inventory/sample management
Experience in business systems analysis, preferably in a scientific or laboratory setting
Understanding of the pharmaceutical research environment and compliance requirements
Demonstrated expertise in a scientific domain area and related technology needs
Strong understanding of scientific processes and the ability to translate them into software requirements
Familiarity with database management, network infrastructure, and system integration
Experience with cloud (e.g. AWS) and on-premise compute infrastructure
Experience with Agile software development methodologies and project management
Experience creating impactful slide decks and communicating data
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
Ability to drive projects/company initiatives using Agile methodology
