About the role:
A vacancy exists for a highly motivated Risk Specialist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join the NSW arm of a leading not-for-profit Australian healthcare provider, St Vincent's Health Australia (SVHA). Working as part of a friendly and supportive in-house Legal and Risk Unit, this role provides a unique opportunity to carve out your own space providing enterprise risk management advice and services across a range of health facilities and research institutes.

As a trusted adviser your expertise will be vital in enhancing and embedding risk frameworks, polices and standards, and lifting risk maturity and organisational resilience. Education and proactive engagement with leadership teams will be key, as well as providing expert advice and support with risk assessments, mitigation strategies and reporting to the executive and Board. Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

2. Tertiary (or equivalent) qualifications in a relevant discipline and significant experience in a Risk Management role

3. Current membership or eligibility for membership to the Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or the Governance Institute of Australia

4. Demonstrated understanding of ISO 31000:2018, and experience with its application in an organisational context

5. Demonstrated business acumen and prior experience applying new thinking and key problem-solving techniques to complex risk environments

6. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare and present briefing papers and reports for a range of audiences, including management and boards

7. Proven ability to develop partnerships, elicit cooperation and working effectively with a range of stakeholders

8. Highly developed organisational and project management skills including an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
