Senior Technical Program Manager
Introduction to the team
The Distribution & Supply Tech organization at Expedia Group develops and maintains scalable, high-performing back-end systems for the Reservations, Inventory, Pricing, and Offers domains. The Technical Program Management team drives critical programs in collaboration with engineering and product teams across multiple global locations. powering key traveler and supplier experiences. This team ensures the timely delivery of high-impact programs, supporting seamless experiences across all Expedia Group brands and partnerships with air, lodging, and car suppliers worldwide.
The Senior Technical Program Manager will be integral to the coordination, structure, tracking, communications and delivery of key business decisions and initiatives for Distribution & Supply. They will be a member of the centralized cross functional Offers & Pricing team, making connections between all Expedia Group Brand clients, multiple Lines of Business stakeholders, and Supply teams.
In this role, you will:
You will build the basic structure of a program (possibly from scratch) that may include: business case, prioritization alignment, team engagement, team governance, identifying a sponsor, identifying stakeholders, 'sales' pitch to leadership, etc.
You will lead proactive identification and mitigation of issues and risks. Leverages experience to anticipate risks in advance of impacts. In addition, you'll keep relevant stakeholders informed of progress toward or changes to task timing that impacts the project schedule
You will lead increasingly adaptive, ambiguous programs or highly complex technical projects
You will facilitate collaboration with different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop effective solutions to issues
You will develop product phase-out planning in-line with the product roadmap and determine different phase milestones and priorities
You will use written and verbal communication skills effectively to confidently convey technical and business concepts to senior management and some executive audiences
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering) or an MBA, or equivalent professional experience. 6+ years of program management experience with cross-brand collaboration
Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives with multi-disciplinary teams and leaders
Adaptable and accountable in managing multiple priorities in a rapidly evolving environment
Excellent meeting facilitation, prioritization, and decision-making skills
Skilled in breaking down ambiguous business issues into structured problem statements
Able to build trust and long-term relationships through storytelling and persuasive influence
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
