Job Summary**
The Tooling CAD Jr. Engineer II will support the design and development of tooling solutions using CAD software, contributing to the efficient and high-quality production of Jabil’s diverse product portfolio. This role involves assisting senior engineers in creating, modifying, and documenting tooling designs, ensuring adherence to specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Job Responsibilities**
* Assist in the creation of detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for various tooling components, including molds, fixtures, jigs, and assembly aids, using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
* Perform modifications and revisions to existing tooling designs based on engineering change orders, manufacturing feedback, and design reviews.
* Generate detailed manufacturing drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
* Support the design team in conducting design reviews, incorporating feedback, and making necessary adjustments to tooling designs.
* Participate in the analysis of tooling designs for manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness.
* Maintain accurate and organized documentation of tooling designs, including CAD files, drawings, and revision histories.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and project management, to ensure successful tooling implementation.
* Learn and apply company standards, best practices, and industry regulations related to tooling design and development.
* Support troubleshooting and problem-solving related to tooling issues during manufacturing.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
* 1-3 years of experience in CAD design, preferably with exposure to tooling design and manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency in at least one major CAD software package (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, NX).
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, machining, and assembly.
* Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Willingness to learn new software, technologies, and manufacturing techniques.
