The Opportunity:
Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in Nuclear Cardiology to work directly and collaboratively with an exercise physiologist and a nuclear medicine technologist. This role supervises exercise and pharmacologic stress testing for adult and geriatric patients. This position provides advanced ECG and arrhythmia interpretation and recognition. You will be responsible for handling radioactive material.
This is a nationally recognized team who is known for its leadership in stress testing with myocardial perfusion imaging. We have been at the forefront of incorporating cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) program, and the first dedicated digital PET camera in the nation. Our program is also dedicated to outcomes and quality of care research and is part of several peer-reviewed scientific papers that have recently been published.
This is a team dedicated to patient care and providing a multidisciplinary team approach to achieving positive patient outcomes. This is a strong positive group that utilizes strong communication, time management and critical thinking skills to make sure the patient has a positive patient experience.
Shift Details: Monday – Friday, No Weekends, No Call, No Holidays, This position would work 5 - 8 hour shifts in a two week period.
The Work:
Direct supervision of exercise and pharmacologic stress testing for both inpatients and outpatients in the nuclear cardiology laboratory.
This involves advanced history and physical assessment skills, advanced ECG and arrhythmia interpretation and recognition.
Will also directly handle radioactive materials.
We are seeking a team focused and patient centered nurse with advanced history and physical assessment skills, experience with peripheral IV access and removal, medication administration, and advanced ECG interpretation skills. To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced nurse with strong multi-tasking, critical thinking, and time management skills.
