Job Summary

    The Accounts Payable Specialist maintains accurate payment information by auditing high-volume expenses, performing data entry, handling expense reports, check matching, conducting research in multiple systems resolving vendor and customer questions, to enable efficient payments and financial reporting.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Prepare monthly reconciliation accounts.
    • Reconcile and match checks in order to ensure accurate records.
    • Create and maintain desktop procedures to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
    • Respond to payment inquiries by internal customers promptly using customer focus techniques and clear communication in order to educate on process and resolve issues.
    • Partnering with Housing to assist managing and resolving expenses
    • Invoice and payables process includes data entry into various systems, general ledger coding, and proofing.
    • Review employee reimbursement and company card reconciliations against company policy and process accounting approvals.
    • Verify the appropriate general ledger coding; compare recommendation from approver against standard accounting practice, including reviewing for capitalization or prepaid requirements.
    • Maintain listing and reconciliation of all expense reports
    • Data entry of payable invoices and expenses.
    • Month end close including recording expenses and revenue in the proper month, journal entry preparation and reporting requirements. Prepare monthly reconciliation accounts
    • Manage check runs and work in Great Plains, Sales Force, People Soft, and Concur.

    Qualifications

      Education & Years of Experience

      • High School Diploma/GED plus 2-5 years of work experience

      Additional Experience

      • Experience in the accounting field | Preferred
      • Proficiency in Excel | Required

      Work Environment / Physical Requirements

      • Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
      • Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

        Pay Rate

        $18.25 - $21.50 Hourly

        Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
