About the Role
You will provide leadership to the carers team and maintenance of The Sister Francesca Healy Cottage (The Cottage). Additionally, this role will provide clinical and practical therapeutic support for all clients of The Cottage.
You will:
• Ensure delivery of an effective and responsive service for clients of The Cottage
• Oversee the maintenance of The Cottage, including but not limited to equipment, food services/handling and the cleaning program
• In conjunction with the Cottage Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse, manage and triage referrals to The Cottage, and coordinate occupancy
• Ensure all documentation, clinical handover and observations are read and completed each shift
• Maintain effective communication and foster positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
The classification for this position is ID5 ($73,502 per annum).
Your Contribution
• Certificate 4 Diploma level or above in one of the following areas:
• Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated understanding of health issues and the complex psychosocial needs of clients
• Demonstrated management skills including expertise in supervision and staff development
• Current First Aid and BLS

About The Cottage and the Healthcare for the Homeless Program
The Cottage is a 5 bed health facility in a homely terrace house setting, providing personal and nursing care for homeless women and men. The aim is to ensure that the physical, social and emotional needs of the client group are addressed within an environment of safe practice, respect, dignity and holistic care. Key target groups for The Cottage include inpatients of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) with ongoing nursing needs as well as one or more of the following risk factors: substance use, mental health issues, homelessness, disability, complex aged care and family violence.
The Healthcare for the Homeless Program has a base of services within SVHM that supports clients that are experience or at risk of homelessness. This program aims to build on integrating and better coordinating existing services within SVHM and the development of new services to meet the need of the target client group.
