About the Job

Join our Data Center Infrastructure Services team as a Data Center Fit Out Project Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in all facets of the white space fit out including physical infrastructure, structured cabling, power distribution, space planning and HVAC of our leased colocation facilities.This position reports directly to the Director of Data Center Infrastructure Capacity and Engineering, 

What You'll Do

  • Project manage data center fit out projects and work with our data center design subject matter experts to provide on-site support for data center design and build projects from inception to final white space handoff.
  • Work with the team to estimate project costs and review contractor proposals.
  • Help develop RFI (Requests for Information) and RFP (Requests for Proposal) documents required for bid leveling, overseeing comparison and analysis process.
  • Develop budget and project plans during the analysis and design phase of the project.
  • Be an onsite PM to oversee subcontractors while ensuring project deliverables and project delivery expectations are met.
  • Manage our expectations with contractors and maintain status documents throughout the project re: scope, budget, billing, schedules and timeframes.
  • Oversee and review all expenses related to the project, work directly with Director of Data Center Infrastructure Capacity and Engineering on approvals.
  • Exhibit leadership characteristics: strong communication skills, full understanding of project requirements, good decision making and drive to exceed client expectations

You

  • Educational Background: Possess a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 3 to 7+ years of relevant data center facilities design and build project management experience. 
  • Prior, recent experience successfully managing large-scale data center build-outs / fit outs in colocation facilities.
  • Possess hands-on experience with data center design and deployment best practices - including a strong understanding of power distribution and/or structured cable design in the data center. 
  • Ability to drive our expectations with vendors and maintain status documents for client projects throughout the project re: scope, budget, billing, schedules and timeframes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in power distribution, emergency backup systems, and critical infrastructure electrical systems.
  • Software Skills: Skilled in using AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design and simulation software.
  • Project Management: Experienced in leading complex projects with multidisciplinary teams, showing a proven ability to drive projects to completion under stringent timelines.

Nice to Have

  • Strong understanding of MEP design drawings including plans, sections and elevations. 
  • Relationships with local vendors or data center REITs. 
  • Ability to estimate projects and review contractor proposals. 
  • Knowledge in bid documents and contractor bid leveling. 
  • RCDD, BICSI DCDC, CDCDP or PMP or related Data Center Facilities Design certifications are a plus.

Salary Range Information 

Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $114,000-$164,000 annually. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
