The Buyer will be responsible for all purchasing transactions of Svitzer Caribbean Dominicana and the Caribbean Cluster entities, including contact with suppliers, follow-up on purchase orders approvals, inventory reposition, logistics coordination, among other functions to provide efficiency in the company expenses management and in compliance with the internal policies.
Specific Area of Responsibility:
The Buyer’s main tasks will be:
·Comply with the purchasing department procedures and global procurement guidelines.
·Receive and process the approved requests for goods and services demanded by the areas and stakeholders across the organization to complete the purchasing process through the ERP systems in place for purpose.
·Identify and develop suppliers to fulfill the operational needs in compliance with the internal policies and local legislation.
·Request quotations to suppliers, analyze, and select best offer based on the operational need and to ensure cost efficiency to the business.
·Prepare purchase orders based on best offer or contractual obligations, request their approval, and track them to completion with respective supplier.
·Coordinate best logistic and transportation, according to the time/cost of the purchase need.
Liaise with the Accounting Department to ensure maintaining healthy account statements with suppliers, as well as jointly troubleshoot possible issues related to invoices.
·Update and send reports as required by Supervisor.
·Support business activities and ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective processes, complying with any contractual and Company’s requirements.
·Perform other ad hoc tasks as needed.
Required/Preferred Education
University degree in Business Administration, International Business, Accounting, or related area preferred.
Training and Experience
1+ year of experience in similar positions.
Strong abilities to build relationships and manage multiple stakeholders' interests.
Good organization, integrity, and responsibility skills.
Problem solving mindset, proactive seeker for improvements.
High energy with strong desire to achieve, ability to prioritize and sense of urgency.
Fluent written and spoken Spanish. Intermediate level Written and spoken English (required).
Proficient in MS Office application.
SERTICA system training completion.
Safety environment awareness.
