THIS ROLE…

As a Senior Security Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our Global Information Security Office (GISO). You will work alongside security architects, engineers, and various operational teams to build out security automations, integrate tool stacks, and enhance our overall security posture.

This is a hands-on role—you’ll be writing Python scripts, integrating with APIs, troubleshooting systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure security is woven into the fabric of our technical environments. If you’re passionate about developing innovative automation solutions, streamlining security operations needs, and working in highly technical environments, this role is for you.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a solid background in security engineering and wants to dive deeper into building and automating security solutions.
• Enjoys creating scripts (preferably in Python) to automate tasks and integrate diverse security tools.
• Thrives in Linux environments—knows how to harden, monitor, and troubleshoot systems at scale.
• Can collaborate seamlessly with security architects, engineering teams, and operations groups to turn security requirements into well-implemented solutions.
• Understands how to parse logs and analyze data (Splunk or similar SIEM) to uncover anomalies and improve detection.
• Loves problem-solving and is eager to reduce manual processes by developing efficient, scalable tools.
• Communicates effectively, whether sharing technical details with peers or conveying security requirements to stakeholders.

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

You will be responsible for designing and implementing automations, integrations, and improvements across our security tooling landscape. Working closely with our security architects, you’ll help ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and can scale to meet our evolving business needs. Your experience in Linux, Python, and security tooling will enable you to build seamless integrations that empower the security team and other stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and respond to threats quickly.

This senior-level role is ideal for someone with 4–6+ years of experience in security engineering (or a closely related field) who’s looking to expand their influence and help shape the way security is operationalized at scale.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING...

• Developing and maintaining security automations in Python to streamline processes such as threat detection, incident response, and compliance reporting.
• Integrating security tool stacks (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint solutions, etc.) with our internal systems, ensuring seamless data flow and consistent visibility.
• Hardening Linux-based environments, implementing best practices for security configurations, monitoring, and patch management.
• Collaborating with security architects to translate high-level security requirements into technical implementations and ensuring solutions meet enterprise security standards.
• Working with engineering and operational teams to embed security controls within CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and other development frameworks.
• Analyzing log data (Splunk or similar) to detect anomalies, refine alerting, and optimize event correlation.
• Supporting incident response activities, including the development of scripts, playbooks, and integrations that accelerate detection and containment.
• Continuously evaluating and enhancing security tooling, identifying new opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
• Documenting processes and standards, ensuring knowledge is shared and easily accessible across teams.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM...

• 4–6+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering or a related technical security domain.
• Proficiency in Python (or similar scripting languages) to build, integrate, and automate security tools and processes.
• Strong Linux experience with a focus on security hardening, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK, etc.) for log analysis, correlation, and anomaly detection.
• Knowledge of network security fundamentals, including firewalls, VPNs, and basic segmentation concepts.
• Comfort working in highly technical environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• A continuous improvement mindset—always seeking to refine workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance security posture.
• Effective communication skills, translating technical details for engineers and presenting concise insights to non-technical stakeholders.

BONUS POINTS FOR...

• Security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, etc.).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and their security implications.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps approaches, including security automation in CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.).

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague, Czech Republic office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
