Position Overview: Fortna is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Strategic Sourcing to lead our global sourcing efforts. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, driving cost efficiencies, ensuring supply chain resilience, and fostering strategic supplier partnerships across the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of global supply chain management. The Director will also play a key role in coaching, mentoring, and developing the category managers, and shaping the organization in collaboration with the sourcing leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Global Commodity Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strategy Development: Define and implement the overall sourcing strategy, focusing on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Cost Management: Drive cost savings initiatives through effective negotiation, supplier selection, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Implement structured negotiation processes to facilitate supplier negotiations and contracting.
  • Supplier Relationship and Supply Chain Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality, delivery, reliability, and innovation. Develop and maintain value-driven vendor partnerships, set KPIs, and use scorecards to measure and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, finance, and quality to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market intelligence and frequent market analysis to anticipate price fluctuations and ensure a reliable supply of materials.
  • Process Improvement: Create a team culture of lean and continuous improvement.
  • Technology Forward: Leverage ERP & business analytics to create a culture of data driven making and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, MRP, and supplier management tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing sourcing strategies.

The base salary range for this role is $153,300 to $229,700.  This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
