- Lead the promotion of products to customers and identify and promote cross selling opportunities
- Manage the delivery of relevant banking services to customers, in own coverage area to meet the department's revenue targets.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and understand their needs in order to provide a high quality of service.
- Anticipate as well as be sensitive to shifting customer expectations and provide recommendations to the wider department on appropriate measures to ensure the Bank stays ahead of competitors.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.
- Work in partnership with Compliance to consult on compliance issues, including but not limited Know Your Customer and Sanctions.
- Work in partnership with Credit on any credit issues associated with deals.
- Work in partnership with Head Office to understand customers and business to ensure that appropriate advice is provided and meets the requirements of customers transactions to the customer.
- Visit customers when required, to represent the business to resolve issues and maintain the customer’s relationship
- Support, coach and guide team on complex corporate banking issues.
- Review deal proposals and credit applications to ensure alignment with business strategy, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation for the Bank.
- Structure complex financial solutions that deliver high-quality service to customers while mitigating risk for the Bank.
- Advise on investment products concerning OTC derivatives contracts (including FX Forwards) under the Financial Advisers Act (FAA).
- Deal in investment products concerning OTC derivatives contracts (including FX Forwards) under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA).
- Handle embedded loans, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and limits.
- Support the team in challenging negotiations with customers, focusing on contract terms, pricing, and commercial solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, products, and relevant laws and regulations in Singapore.
Job requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience within Japanese corporate banking industry as the role requires interaction with Japanese corporate clients and stakeholders
- Minimum 2 years experience in leading a team.
- Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency) with demonstrated experience communicating with Japanese stakeholders and senior management, including acting as a key point of contact across Tokyo Head Office and APAC.
- Liaise and collaborate with stakeholders at the Tokyo Head Office to develop business plans and present these plans in Japanese during meetings and conferences.
- Demonstrated understanding of local laws and regulations
- Proven communication skills with the ability to influence others and sell products
