Role Definition
We have an exciting opportunity for a high performing person to join our team in North America.  Our team of procurement professionals secure and manage capacity at our supply chain partners for Large Electric Power division packaged Gensets. 

The role is both strategic with a focus on future demand and securing capacity with partners across the US and ROW.  It is also executing whether that be working with our customers and business partners to deliver the build plan or supporting our suppliers as they ramp up and begin working with us at Cat.

Engaging with our global partners this role is in place to ensure we have secured capacity with suppliers who can work to Caterpillar standards, deliver on time and with an excellent quality product.

The person will be a self-driven, highly motivated individual, they must be able to work of their own initiative.   Experience in Gensets, Engines, Power systems would be advantageous.  Other key experience would be commercial negotiations, with a focus on contracts.  Supply Chain planning with SOP, Supplier development would also be desirable.  This role is supported by a great team of legal, business resources and engineering professionals. 

The person will be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, and must have a logical mindset. 

Responsibilities
• Identifying, defining, and implementing integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.
• Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.
• Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.
• Developing and analyzing data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships.

• Describes applications and technologies used to manage supply chain.
• Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.

• Contacts references for vendors and suppliers; records the resulting information.

  • Ideally the candidate will have broad knowledge of CAT systems, and an understanding of enterprise procedures along with compliance management.
