JOB PURPOSE:

The Business Development Director will lead the growth, sales, community engagement and networking to drive the CenterLight Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) growth through referral source network building, provider relationships, developing lead-optimization strategies, enhancing plan education communications, and by leading the development of community engagement events to proliferate increased awareness, advocacy, and strategic partnerships with referral sources.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop processes and standard operating procedures, define job functions, and manage a field-based team of outreach/business development staff. 
  • Meet directly with relevant community and business stakeholders as necessary to provide plan education through lectures, presentations, meetings, or other communications.
  • Build up staff and assign strategic relationships, ensure continuous and effective communication with contacts, respond to all inquiries, requests, and referrals timely.
  • Lead in the new hires interview process, recruitment decisions, training, and development of staff.
  • Monitor and drive staff performance, quality, customer service, compliance, and efficiency in all activities; and audit, monitor, and document team performance during presentations, calls, eligibility assessments, document completion, and other relevant executions.
  • Lead strategic planning activities for territory coverage, growth optimization, operational efficiencies, and other relevant focuses.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to develop promotional messaging, differentiation strategies, and compliant marketing collateral needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with referral sources and all departments.
  • Partner with the Intake / Enrollment teams to streamline and optimize the referral management process and reduce timelines for each touchpoint.
  • Increase brand awareness of CenterLight PACE by educating community leaders/organizations, providers, referral sources, prospective participants/caregivers, and other audiences on PACE program benefits.
  • Identify and train on PACE differentiators from other healthcare options and isolating key value propositions in relation to audience group and specific needs.
  • Train, support and analyze cultural growth initiatives through community outreach and market engagement activities.
  • Manage the internal/external events and the community outreach team in identifying appropriate events, community partners, or other resources and opportunities to educate the community.
  • Collaborate with other departments positioning the mobile health unit/vehicles at events with the community engagement team.
  • Work with the site directors and therapeutic recreation department and staff on site events/tours to grow the sites.
  • Develop a Market Analysis to identify new business opportunities, provide market trend intelligence, and advise on the competitive landscape.
  • Create, update, and enforce department policies and procedures. Training and standard operating procedures for regulatory compliance with state, federal, and PACE program requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable CMS, DOH, and PACE-specific guidelines, including organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Train and oversee marketing and outreach activities following the CMS, DOH, PACE, and company regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor team performance, referrals, and enrollment to identify trends and ensure the quality of leads.
  • Ensure staff meets documentation standards.
  • Develop reports to keep track of staff performance, referrals, enrollments, and conversion rates.
  • Meet referral, enrollment, and conversion rate KPI goals as identified by Senior Management.
  • Integrate with all departments to provide high-quality of care. 
  • Oversee handouts/packets with approved marketing materials.
  • Assisting in developing and managing business development budget for events, networking, collateral materials, and giveaways.
  • Create messaging for social media posted by the marketing department.
  • Participate with quality improvement projects.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Same responsibilities above with all affiliated entities.

Schedule: 8:30AM – 5:30PM

Weekly Hours: 40

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Preferred bachelor’s degree preferred.  

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (5+) years of work experience in healthcare business development; preferably with MLTC, MAP, or PACE programs and/or homecare.
  • Knowledge of community-based long-term care services to a dual-eligible and frail adult population.
  • In-depth knowledge of government programs: Medicare, Medicaid, PACE, compliance, and regulations.
  • Minimum of three (3+) years of Management (Manager level and up) experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience utilizing CRM or other database platforms/tools preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook required; Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Highly organized and flexible to meet submission deadlines.
  • Experience in working independently without significant oversight and or direction from a supervisor.
  • Drive- Hold driver’s license and own vehicle.
  • Contract negotiation experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Written and verbal fluency in a secondary language required.
  • Must be a skilled public speaker, willing and comfortable to present in front of audiences.
  • Knowledge with healthcare organizations and general population dynamics within the greater New York Metropolitan region.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the greater NYC metropolitan region (80% of the time).
  • Positive attitude and outlook with the ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment.
  • Works in the field, office locations and outside in varied weather conditions in all areas of the community.
  • Nights and weekends may apply.

Physical Requirements:

Individuals must be able to sustain certain physical requirements essential to the job. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Standing – Duration of up to 6 hours a day.
  • Sitting/Stationary positions – Sedentary position in duration of up to 6-8 hours a day for consecutive hours/periods.
  • Lifting/Push/Pull – Up to 50 pounds of equipment, baggage, supplies, and other items used in the scope of the job using OSHA guidelines, etc.
  • Bending/Squatting – Have to be able to safely bend or squat to perform the essential functions under the scope of the job.
  • Stairs/Steps/Walking/Climbing – Must be able to safely maneuver stairs, climb up/down, and walk to access work areas.
  • Agility/Fine Motor Skills - Must demonstrate agility and fine motor skills to operate and activate equipment, devices, instruments, and tools to complete essential job functions (i.e. typing, use of supplies, equipment, etc.)
  • Sight/Visual Requirements – Must be able to visually read documentation, papers, orders, signs, etc., and type/write documentation, etc. with accuracy.
  • Audio Hearing and Motor Skills (language) Requirements – Must be able to listen attentively and document information from patients, community members, co-workers, clients, providers, etc., and intake information through audio processing with accuracy. In addition, they must be able to speak comfortably and clearly with language motor skills for customers to understand the individual.
  • Cognitive Ability – Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making, reasonableness, cognitive ability, rational processing, and analysis to satisfy essential functions of the job.
