Interventional Radiology Technologist

Tradition Hospital is home to the only department in all of Cleveland Clinic to have all four modalities in one department – interventional, cardiac cath, neuro and vascular. Having all four modalities in one department offers a wide array of learning and growth opportunities for Technologists as your work will always be interesting and broaden your knowledge base. No two cases are the same, so this team performs many procedures and has mastered being able to switch gears in a fast-paced setting. Doctors on this team stay up to date on the newest devices and techniques, so Technologists can train in and learn about these innovative techniques and devices.  

A caregiver in this position works the day shift from 7:00am5:30pm with on-call requirements. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform duties involved with various technical procedures to detect pathology.  

  • Perform routine imaging, emergent, invasive and special procedures.  

  • Improve patient care and workflows by providing support, education and assistance to patients and caregivers.  

  • Safely operate equipment and maintain standards while performing procedures.  

  • Maintain a safe, clean and economical operation.  

  • Coordinate and answer questions regarding scheduling, patient information, networking and informatics.  

  • Document in chart upon completion of procedures.  

  • Complete and send electronic data.  

  • Provide copies of imaging studies.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.  

  • Registered through the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).  

  • Florida license and a General Radiographer (RAD).  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting.  

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires sitting at a workstation or desk; requires standing; work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Work requires finger dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.
  • Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.
  • Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand.
