Position Highlights:

What you will need:
• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• Education: Completion of Master's level program in specialty area
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience: Prior APN/PA experience in an acute care hospital or surgical service setting preferred
What you will do:
Function as an APP on the Otolaryngology (ENT) Team as a part of the Department of Neurosciences, predominately in an outpatient/ambulatory role with some inpatient duties, focused on Neuro Otology. Support the ENT team across the other sub-specialties on the inpatient service, and potential for OR time related to Neuro Otology. Opportunities to become self-sufficient in the ENT exam, complex ENT diagnoses and treatment, and interpretation of imaging. Formulate individualized medical-surgical treatment plans in a shared-decision making model and facilitate discharge care and patient education. Identify opportunities for and implement program growth initiatives. Positively contribute to safety outcomes, quality initiatives and promote high quality patient experiences.
Round and manage inpatient consults, pre- and post-operative ENT patients. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments. Assists with pre-admission and explain procedures to patients 25-%
Attend and participate in department meetings and case conferences 15%
First- or second-assist in the operating room on neuro otology cases 5 %
