As a Product Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, debug and maintenance of test programs that help deliver Micron's world-class DRAM portfolio to market. A product test engineer can be passionate about the health and quality of the memory cells [DRAM features 16 billion cells in less than 80mm^2 of area] or passionate about high-speed interface and system level application testing. As product test engineers, we must constantly evolve and apply the right technology and testing solution to be successful! Responsibilities:

 Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design new test programs for 1st silicon validation of new product/technology
  • Optimize test programs by applying more efficient testing methods to reduce product test times and manufacturing costs.
  • Automate test processes by writing software to improve work efficiency.
  • Develop tools to help provide better analysis and insight of the terabytes of probe data.
  • Develop new Design For Test (DFT) and Design For Manufacturability (DFM) capabilities
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to develop and qualify new test solutions
  • Collaborate with other engineering departments to improve overall product yield and performance. 

Qualifications:

Test Solution Engineering is a multi-disciplinary field, requiring knowledge of semiconductor operation, computer architecture, programming, and statistics.  A successful candidate will be interested in hardware, software, and statistics, and can expect to dive into all three areas daily.  Because Test Solution Engineering works with many other departments, a candidate should also be highly motivated with solid communication and reporting abilities.

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Applied Electronics/Electrical circuit knowledge:
  • Experience using ATE to test memory devices.
  • Experience with digital systems and logic testing in memory devices.
  • Experience with semiconductor device operation / knowledge in memory devices.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor memory manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated C++ and APG programming skills for semiconductor memory testing.
  • Experience working in a Unix/Linux command environment.
  • Experience working with statistics to drive an understanding of correlation and experiment data.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring other engineers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently.
  • Driven projects spanning long periods with multiple major milestones while meeting critical deadlines.

Helpful additional specific knowledge:

  • Python / Perl familiarity or experience.

Required Education:

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines, and one (1) year of experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines and five (5) years of experience.
