Job Description:

The Role: 

As a Chemical Process Engineer in the SPI Laboratory, you will be responsible for performing chemical analysis to support process development, quality control, and troubleshooting activities. This role focuses on operating advanced analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, Karl Fischer, acid-base titration, and pyrolysis GC (py-GC) to ensure accurate and timely data delivery. In addition, you will be involved in laboratory chemical preparation and beaker experiments to support RD development. You will collaborate closely with process engineers and RD teams to provide critical insights that drive process optimization and product quality. 

 

In this role you will: 

  • Perform chemical analyses (ICP-OES, KF, titration, py-GC) with ensured accuracy and reliability 

  • Prepare chemical solutions and perform beaker experiments following standard laboratory procedures 

  • Follow safety, quality, and compliance standards within the laboratory environment  

  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and operations teams to support process monitoring and improvement through experimental testing and analysis, developing a clear understanding of experimental work, while maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to method development and validation 

Traits we believe make a strong candidate: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field 

  • 3+ years of hands-on laboratory or chemical analysis experience 

  • Experience with analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, KF titrator, titration systems, and GC (py-GC is a plus) 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data integrity 

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility in laboratory work 

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with global engineering teams and a willingness to learn
