Description -
Position Overview:
The Product Data Management (PDM) Senior Data Analyst is responsible for managing, analyzing, and interpreting product data to support business decision-making and optimize product-related processes. This role involves working closely with various teams to ensure the integrity and effective use of product data, leveraging advanced analytical techniques to drive insights, and supporting data-driven strategies within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Analyze large datasets related to product information, performance, and market trends to identify patterns, correlations, and insights.
- Develop and apply statistical models and algorithms to interpret complex data and support decision-making.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key metrics and trends to stakeholders.
2. Data Management and Governance:
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of product data across various systems and platforms.
- Implement data quality measures and perform data cleansing to address discrepancies and ensure reliable data.
- Collaborate with data stewards and IT teams to maintain and improve data governance practices.
3. Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to track product performance, trends, and other key business metrics.
- Document data processes, methodologies, and findings clearly and comprehensively.
- Present analytical results and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
4. System and Tool Utilization:
- Utilize advanced data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI) to extract, manipulate, and visualize data.
- Support the integration of product data with other business systems (e.g., ERP, CRM) to ensure seamless data flow and utilization.
5. Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with product management, marketing, sales, and other departments to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
- Assist in the development and execution of data-driven strategies and initiatives.
- Provide training and support to team members on data analysis tools and best practices.
6. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving data management processes and implementing best practices.
- Propose and implement enhancements to data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
7. Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data analysis and product data management.
Education Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree:
- A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field is required.
2. Master’s Degree (Preferred):
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA with a focus on analytics, MS in Data Science or Business Analytics) is preferred and can be advantageous for advanced roles.
3. Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP): Preferred to validate advanced analytical skills and expertise.
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate: Preferred to demonstrate proficiency with data visualization tools.
- SQL Certification: Preferred to validate expertise in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
Experience Requirements:
1. Professional Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within product data management or a related field.
- Proven experience working with large datasets and complex data analysis tools.
2. Industry Knowledge:
- Experience in a relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, technology) can be beneficial

1. Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
2. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for creating reports and dashboards.
3. Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
4. Attention to Detail:
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
5. Problem-Solving:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address data-related challenges and develop innovative solutions.
6. Collaboration:
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and provide data-driven support for various business functions.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical prowess, and strong communication skills to effectively manage and leverage product data for strategic decision-making and process improvement.

The base pay range for this role is $118,050 to $171,200 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
