This position is for a Senior IT buyer for complex IT contract and licenses.

Nationality Requirements

Job Description

  • Negotiates a range of high value and complex IT contracts & licences and uses procurement best practice tools and methods for ensuring lowest possible cost is balanced against the optimum quality & schedule needs.
  • Implement contracts globally that comply with company and government regulations.
  • Build long term relationships with suppliers in the IT Category, ensuring supply reliability, price stability, innovation, and identification of alternative sources.
  • Develop & execute global comprehensive strategies, plans and sub contract management plans for assigned spend that drives improvements in cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Balancing strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs
  • Conduct market analysis, peer company benchmarking, supply risk assessments, and evaluation of new sources of supply.
  • Analyzes the requirements, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier and requirement date.
  • Issues RFQ’s and PO’s in accordance with company and government regulations.
  • Solicits and evaluates proposals.
  • Create innovative contracting approaches consistent with category strategy and business objectives through performance measures, incentives, long term agreements, partnerships, etc.
  • When performance issues emerge, help interactions with the supplier to ensure efficient resolution.
  • Understand business, market, and supplier risks.
  • Ensure suppliers are performing to contracted obligations and service levels, and meeting stakeholder expectations.
  • Initiate regular business reviews with suppliers to discuss performance.
  • Managing material actual cost vs should cost
  • Developing and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
  • Collaborating with supply chain functions for support as needed.
  • Developing and Monitoring performance metrics and proactively acts to address program and functional issues.

Basic Qualification

  • 10+ years working as a Procurement Professional. Proven record of delivering significant savings through a variety of levers
  • Significant experience in a senior IT category role
  • Excellent negotiation and category management experiance
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional and cross-business unit teams to drive savings.
  • Experience working in the DoD/MoD Aerospace & Defense industry, preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and self-sufficient time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences.
  • Result driven mineset

Preferred Qualification

  • MCIPS qualified
  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • IT Procurement background
  • Strong Contract and Negotiation experience
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP business systems
  • Experience managing to a budget

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined work experience (can include Graduate school experience) in functional in procurement, supply chain or contracts.

Any additional requirements/particular aptitude/skill required:

  • Eligible to obtain security clearance.
  • Travel to global locations as required.
