About the Role

Are you passionate about driving operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re seeking a Master Scheduler Specialist to join our team and lead production planning, scheduling, and resource optimization. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring on-time delivery, collaborating across departments, and continuously improving our processes to deliver outstanding results for our customers.

The Master Scheduler Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing a comprehensive production schedule for the facility, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role collaborates cross-functionally with purchasing, production, supply chain, and sales teams to guarantee material and resource availability, meet production targets, and achieve on-time delivery. The Master Scheduler proactively identifies risks, drives continuous improvement, and communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure timely material and resource availability.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to optimize throughput, minimize bottlenecks, and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Analyze facility capacity and initiate outsourcing or resource reallocation as needed, maintaining expense control.
  • Track daily work order progress, resolve schedule deviations, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal sales associates and customers, providing regular updates on job status and timelines.
  • Communicate technical requirements to subcontractors and expedite orders as necessary.
  • Proactively identify risks to order fulfillment and leverage change orders to benefit the business.
  • Lead and participate in initiatives to improve scheduling processes, reduce lead times, and enhance delivery performance.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in material planning, workflow scheduling, or production planning within manufacturing.
  • Advanced proficiency in managing multiple jobs and schedules simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, inspection, assembly).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint; SAP experience preferred.
  • APICS CPIM certification highly desirable.
