Annual Salary: $200,000k-$250,000k + 20% annual bonus

Pricing and Innovation Team at hyperexponential

The Pricing and Innovation team at hyperexponential have the exciting position of working across most parts of the business, leveraging a deep knowledge of the Insurance industry to help drive success for both our customers as well as the company.

Our key focus areas are:

  • Working closely with our customers, helping them achieve best-in-class pricing transformations and ensuring they stay ahead in the competitive landscape

  • Supporting the sales function by helping potential customers understand the value of hx Renew to their business, both qualitatively and quantitively

  • Working closely with the Product team to help steer the longer term Product Strategy

Your mission

Join our newly established New York office and play a pivotal role in hyperexponential's expansion in the US. As part of a diverse, multinational team, you'll drive strategic initiatives and engage with existing customers to help them achieve best-in-class pricing solutions using our hx Renew platform. Your excellent communication skills and technical credibility will also be crucial in articulating the value of our platform to potential customers and showcasing its capabilities.

You'll leverage your technical skills to get hands-on with the platform and develop new assets to support both existing and new customers, leveraging your deep knowledge of the US Insurance Market to contribute to various business areas. Your strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative approach will help shape our company's success in the US market.

Beyond this, you’ll work with other teams in hyperexponential, such as the product and marketing teams - providing valuable industry insights and expertise to enhance our offerings and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct workshops for actuaries and underwriters with prospects and customers to understand their needs and advise on best practice pricing, transformation and underwriting processes, driving usage of the platform and ultimately generating value for our customers

  • Develop a strong technical understanding of our platform hx Renew and identify innovative use cases - for example, driving partnerships with third-party data providers that will provide added value to customers of the platform

  • Act as a subject matter expert for our internal teams on Pricing in the US Speciality and Commercial P&C markets - for example providing input to our Product Team on the needs of Actuaries and Underwriters in the insurance space

  • Deliver product demos to prospective customers, helping to tailor the demo to the prospective audience and their needs - whether that’s Actuaries, Underwriters or Executives

  • Be an advocate in the Commercial P&C market for what the future of pricing and underwriting looks like and help our customers achieve it today

  • Work in sync with the product and engineering teams to develop sustainable and commercially viable products - iterating sales and demo materials to include any new product features

  • Liaise with the marketing team to undertake demand-generating activities such as conferences, webinars, or customer workshops

Experience and skills

  • Expertise as a Pricing Actuary in the US Commercial P&C market, preferably experience in Speciality and Commercial Lines of Business

  • Previous experience in consultancy, or varied experience across the Commercial P&C/Reinsurance market

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of helping to enable positive change through communication

  • Hands-on knowledge of pricing tool development and deployment across a broad array of Lines of Business/Products with an understanding of a variety of pricing/rating methodologies

  • Strong technical aptitude for coding, data, analytics and technology and proven track record of driving projects forward which relied on these skills

  • A proactive mindset with a preference for taking on responsibility and moving projects forward

  • A passion for excellence in the insurance industry and a rejection of the idea that change isn’t possible
