About the Role

To support COUG by providing precertification support for the organization.  Responsible for the Company Vision “To be the prominent urology practice in central Ohio, and beyond, with a reputation for delivering excellent and effective care in all urologic modalities. By providing full-service urology to the patients and communities we serve, there will be greater satisfaction as well as patient and physician loyalty which will allow COUG continued success and growth.”

What You’ll Be Doing

• Coordinates authorizations and benefits with third parties for visits, procedures, surgeries, medications, imaging, lab and any other treatments that are ordered
• Verifies eligibility and requests authorizations for various medical orders
• Calls patients with benefits for upcoming procedures and collects co-pays, deductibles and co-insurances
• Coordinating with physician, clinical staff, insurances, and patients to obtain the authorization

What We Expect From You

• Two (2) years of experience working in a medical practice or medical organization (will substitute educational experience for on the job experience)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience in preauthorization approvals and processing in a medical practice or organization
