We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Machine Learning Engineering to lead the Content Moderation and Understanding team at Snap!

What you’ll do:

  • Develop solutions to long-term challenges within content understanding and personalization

  • Build world-class content moderation system to prevent policy violating views of content on Snapchat

  • Lead the development of state of the art cross-attention machine learning models to improve understanding of user preferences across static images, videos, lenses, and ad interactions

  • Drive the team’s strategy and goal setting related to project impact, system design, and ML / Engineering excellence

  • Provide technical direction that influences the entire company and improves the performance of the organization

  • Support the team, grow leaders, and foster positive team culture

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of common Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms

  • Strong understanding of ML approaches and algorithms, and their applications in recommendation systems

  • Strong people leadership skills; ability to develop top engineering talent and leaders

  • Ability to lead and execute large, complex technical initiatives and solve open ambiguous problems end to end 

  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience

  • 10+ years of machine learning experience in industry

  • 4+ years experience managing ML teams focusing on any of the following areas: content understanding, content moderation, personalization or sequence learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in computer science or related field

  • Experience leading content understanding, content moderation or personalization teams

  • Previous experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management across a globally distributed organization and exercising sound judgment

  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments

  • Experience working with a diverse group of engineers

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $244,000-$366,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $232,000-$348,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $208,000-$311,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
