Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems offers an excellent opportunity for an Integration and Test Engineer – Junior Integrator/Operator (25-505) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays an essential role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires working on-site with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital component of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to accomplish global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by linking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide and locally, thereby improving overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC plays a critical role in all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
The System Test Team is responsible for planning and analyzing all MOS ground and flight tests related to the C2BMC program. The Junior Integrator/Operator will initially support the C2BMC System Test & Integration group as a system operator, configuring and operating C2BMC systems, servers, and other components during tests in a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) environment. It will eventually transition to the operational environment. The collection and staging of data will also be coordinated with the System Test Data Manager. Ideally, the candidate will become knowledgeable about the architecture, network, and data flows of the complex C2BMC system, as well as its interoperability with other Missile Defense System sensors, shooters, and elements. This role provides an opportunity to develop into a Systems Integrator. The Integration group is responsible for ensuring systems are successfully integrated before test events or operational deployment. Another growth opportunity exists in the area of System Test Subject Matter Expert (SME). This group is responsible for the detailed planning and execution of ground and flight tests, including the production of all required test artifacts.
