Summary
The Spotter I is primarily responsible for safety handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within a local area. The position requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service. Incumbent must be at least 22 years of age.
Essential Functions
Primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within a local area
Ensuring compliance with applicable Federal and/or State laws, regulations and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records and logs
Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
Ability to meet Ryder's driving qualifications
Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated
Ability to follow directions
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

Qualifications
H.S. diploma/GED preferred General H.S. subjects
One (1) year or more verifiable driving experience required
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
