PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Employee Engagement Communications, the Business Segment Communications Senior Manager will be part of a team within the Center of Excellence (CoE) of Internal & Employee Engagement Communications (IEEC) that plays a critical role in helping to drive internal communications supporting the Business Segments of Fresenius Medical Care. Working with the Communications Business Partners in the respective segment, this role will be responsible for developing content that meets the communications needs on a global scale. The person in this role will gain an understanding of the business strategy, goals, and objectives, translating these into communications strategies and tactics to drive employee engagement and ultimately business performance. Whether providing guidance on best practices, producing content in a variety of formats – with other experts in the team, such as video, graphic design, etc. – or preparing briefs, newsletters or campaigns, this role will require a dynamic, flexible and skilled communicator. In addition, this role will be influential in ensuring the highest quality standards that build confidence in the accuracy, reach and timeliness of our internal communications within Fresenius Medical Care.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Communications Business Partners to understand the business needs and translate these into communications strategies and tactics across our various channels
  • Create content that engages our target audiences, educates them on important business and/or job-related updates, and motivates employees to deliver on calls to action
  • As part of the Internal & Employee Engagement Communications (IEEC) Center of Excellence (CoE), strategically advise our Communications Business Partners on best practices, tools, channels, content and broader communications objectives to drive employee engagement Design communications campaigns and tactics for our Business Segments to deliver on the requisite business objectives
  • Develop templates, ways of working, in-take processes and more to drive efficiencies and performance improvement as part of the IEEC CoE
  • Support communications initiatives and activities for the broader organization as needed including developing content on various topics, posting on channels, and partnering with employee engagement comms colleagues to work on deadline driven initiatives.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience in public relations, communications and/or journalism
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, preferably with extensive internal communications experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality communications, products or tools targeting a diverse range of audiences
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Experience working in a complex, global environment is desirable
  • Superior writing and editorial experience in English with a proven ability to distill large amounts of information for diverse audiences
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with an ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple demands and competing priorities, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Innovative thinker, enjoys developing and testing new ideas and ways of addressing issues or driving engagement
  • Great ability to work as part of a team within a networked structure, and to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries
  • Significant ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt work plans
  • Positive, open-minded with a mindset to continuously grow and develop
  • Skills in other languages would be an advantage, in particular, German. However, not a must
  • A good sense of humor
