JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Job Title:  Driver / Courier

Reports To:  In-flight Manager/Operations Supervisor

Department:    Operations

Primary Objective: To load the vehicle, deliver the product, and maintain a clean and tidy working environment.

Qualifications Required: A current Police Certificate and a health card.

Skills and Experience Required: Good vision, literate. Customer-oriented. Ability to communicate in the local dialect (Patois) is an asset. Good interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to lift and carry boxes/cases of products for storage and delivery.

Summary of Major Duties:

1.  Assist with the delivery of goods and interact directly with customers.

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ATTAINED WHEN:

a.         Customers are served in a polite manner.

b.         All orders are checked with the delivery clerk at the Paradise sales office when loading the truck, ensuring that orders are packed correctly with regards to weight/size/description and product quality.

c.         Goods are delivered to customers in good condition.

d.         Deliveries for cash bills are made only upon the receipt of cash/cheque unless otherwise instructed by the Manager/Supervisor.

e.         Customers sign delivery copies for receipt of goods.

f.          Cheques are not accepted from customers issuing bad cheques as per the official Company bad cheques schedule provided by the Accounts department.

g.         Checks are carried out to ensure that only goods on the invoice are delivered.

h.         All bills are stamped /signed when goods are delivered /received.

i.          Assist with the loading and offloading of delivery vans/trucks.

2.         Ensure that all cheques accepted from customers bear all required information.

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ATTAINED WHEN:

a.         Cheques bear the writer’s full name, address, telephone numbers (home and work), your name and initial as the receiving officer, and the department.

b.         Cheques bear the correct signature (as per customer's ID card), date, payee, and amount (in words and figures agree), and that alterations are appropriately signed by the signatories.

c.         Cheque stamps (which serve as a checklist) are used at the back of all cheques.

3. Log/record invoices as being received.

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ATTAINED WHEN:

a.         Goods returned by customers for credit are submitted to the Supervisor/Manager for recording in the goods returned book.

4.         Balance any cash received against cash on delivery bills.

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ATTAINED WHEN:

a.         All cash received balances against cash on delivery bills, and are submitted to the Accounts Department upon return from delivery.

5.         Assist in stacking and storing stock in the Warehouse.                                                                                                                

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ATTAINED WHEN:

a.         Low/ground-level stock is stacked and stored.

b.         Oldest stock is accessible for selection before new stock

6.         Participate in Performance Appraisal and any Company training activities.

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ATTAINED WHEN:

a.         There is full participation in the appraisal process.

b.         All training sessions recommended by the Supervisor/Manager and Human Resources Manager are attended.

7.         Ensure that the working environment is kept clean, tidy, aesthetically appealing, and is in good repair.

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE WILL HAVE BEEN ATTAINED WHEN:

a.         The work environment is kept within Company standards, sanitary, and clean.

e.         Safety rules are followed, and precautions are always taken by all staff, especially when operating vehicles.
