The Opportunity

This position works out of our Coumbus Ohio (Easton Office) location in the Abbott Nutrition Division. Abbott Nutrition provides science based advanced nutrition products for people of all ages. Abbott’s products are designed to support healthy growth and development of infants or to help maintain adult bodies stay strong and active.  

As the Ingredient Sourcing and Risk Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to manage up to $100MM in Nutritional commodity spend. Be recognized as the subject matter expert in the category.  Identify critical business requirements and implement procurement services that meet the organization’s needs. Manage supply along with working cross functionally with key internal stakeholders to build long term global strategies and ensure best cost of materials and services.

What You’ll Work On

  • Raw material sourcing and Procurement optimization for multiple Abbott sites globally
  • Negotiate complex supply contracts to secure products that provide Abbott with a strategic advantage
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant market trends, behaviors, and proactively assess potential impact to Abbott
  • Establish Global financial strategies and execute to meet Abbott’s performance goals
  • Influence the business needs through cross functional development of category strategies
  • Ensure Supply resilience. Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies
  • Identify and execute cost savings/or avoidance projects through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models or other market analysis tools
  • Facilitate supplier selection through formal RFI/RFP process
  • Develop and monitor supplier KPI’s
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Anticipate and guard against internal/external challenges and drive necessary change

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, Business, Operations, Finance or Technical field. 
  • Total combined experience of 4-6 years in operations, supply chain management including, but not limited to purchasing, planning, inventory control, finance, logistics or other related fields.
  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in staff management and development. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification by Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and The Association for Operations Management (APICS) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.
  • Posess skills in analysis, negotiation, strategy development, project management, problem-solving, planning, goal setting, motivation, relationship management, leadership, diplomacy, financial acumen, written and oral communications

The base pay for this position is

$97,300.00 – $194,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
