How you will contribute:
Perform required contract management activities, including processing amendments, monitoring expiration dates, updating supporting documentation, etc..
Conduct regular spend analysis to identify trends and opportunities by category, subcategory, business unit and geography, or as required
Help develop and refine targeted reports used by category leads to drive decision making
Communication and management of relationship with external suppliers and partners at the relevant seniority levels as part of sourcing processes, for example, scheduling of supplier negotiation meetings, etc.
Supporting organization-wide procedures for governance, risk and compliance management that manage, mitigate and minimize risks to Sunlife and its clients and partners
Preparation of relevant data to enable tracking of management information and KPIs such as category savings, procurement timescale SLAs
Ownership of elements of the sourcing process, under the guidance of the relevant Stakeholder. This may include identification of potential suppliers, market research, production of tender documentation, management of RFx timelines, supplier evaluation, and support of negotiations
Acquiring, maintaining and developing expertise, knowledge and information to support continuous improvement in allocated category(ies) from relevant internal and external sources
What you will bring with you:
3+ years experience in a Procurement and/or Financial services
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related subject preferred
Strong business and financial acumen
Ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and written
A proven track record of monitoring and prioritizing work, meeting deadlines and KPI’s
Strong problem-solving skills and techniques with an ability to understand and carry out spend analysis and generate insightful value adding conclusions
A strong understanding of Procurement processes: Category Planning, Strategic
Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management
Experience with SAP Ariba preferred
Competent in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel is highly desirable

Southern California region: $84,100 - 126,200 annually
Central California region:$94,700 - 142,100 annually
Northern California region: $94,700 - 142,100 annually
If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $80,200 - 120,300 annually
If you are an Illinois, Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $84,100 - 126,200 annually
If you are Washington, Washington D.C., and Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $94,700 - 142,100 annually
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $94,700 - 142,100 annually
