Job Description:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist – PET/CT performs diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging procedures using specialized equipment to support accurate clinical diagnosis and patient care. This role works closely with radiologists, physicians, and the care team to deliver high-quality imaging while ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and excellent patient experience. The position supports both PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine, with potential rotation between modalities.

Essential Functions

• Maintain ARRT and/or modality-specific clinical and technical competency.
• Perform Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT exams per protocol and verify image quality and accuracy.
• Ensure proper patient identification, exam preparation, education, comfort, and safety.
• Follow radiation safety standards and regulations (NRC, Division of Radiation Control, and other governing agencies).
• Operate imaging equipment and related information systems effectively.
• Complete studies within expected timeframes without compromising quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation, records, and quality control logs per regulatory requirements.
• Assist and instruct students or other technologists as appropriate.

Skills

Minimum (Required) Qualifications

• Current License in state of practice.
• Clinical Board Certification, i.e. American Registry Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Basic Life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• IV certification for healthcare providers.
• One year of clinical Nuclear Medicine experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
• May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$42.66 - $65.82
