What You Will Do:

  • Guidehouse is engaged in projects with state and local agencies to provide policy, planning, and implementation support for federal and state funding programs relating to affordable housing.
  • Guidehouse is seeking a Managing Consultant to join its Housing & Community Solutions practice who has experience in affordable housing, homelessness, and/or community development programs, including but not limited to policy analysis, program design, financing, implementation, operations, grants management, equitable development, community benefits, social impact evaluation, monitoring and compliance, and publicly available funding for housing and community development.
  • We are seeking individuals who have experience both inside and outside of government, and in particular individuals who have experience or knowledge of applicable policy, programs, funding source, regulations, tools and software solutions used within the industry.


What You Will Need:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working on affordable housing and energy efficiency projects, financing, programs and/or policy
  • Experience with HUD entitlement funding sources (CDBG, HOME, ESG, HOPWA)
  • Knowledge and experience relating to developing and submitting HUD Consolidated Plans and CAPERs
  • Knowledge and experience writing and submitting grants to HUD and/or other federal agencies
  • Understanding and experience with LIHTC and HUD multifamily programs
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to research, analyze and synthesize data in a meaningful way
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and communicate regularly with project leadership and client points of contact
  • Ability to work independently as required, with a strong commitment to team environment
  • Ability to meet project milestones and delivery schedules
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Certifications such as HOME Compliance Specialist, or similar certifications
