Primary Function

The Software Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for responsible for understanding business requirements and flows, creation of test strategy & test case scenarios for execution.  Review test results following QA standards ensuring upmost quality of software implementation.  Also, perform tasks in sync with the timely releases of the products.  Perform manual testing and collaborate with automation team to drive testing efficiencies for repetitive testing tasks.

Principal Duties

  • Design and execute Quality Assurance test plan, including the creation of test cases.
  • Design and execute User Acceptance test plan, where applicable.
  • Collaborate with Automation team to develop automation strategy for repetitive and/or complex tasks.
  • Run regressive test scenarios and evaluate results.
  • Execute functional, system, and automation tests.
  • Work closely with QA team to implement the automation roadmap.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze defects found during testing cycles.
  • Record, track, and test defects to closure.
  • Maintain software testing documentation including, but not limited to standard test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Manage own assignments in relation to the project schedule.
  • Analyze defined requirements for testability.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements  

  • B.S. or B.A. or other related 4-year technical degree required
  • 5+ years Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience with software development processes including Agile/Lean methodologies, and DevOps concepts, particularly in a CI/CD environment
  • Experience testing Mortgage / Financial applications.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration methodologies

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements 

  • Knowledge of Mortgage / Financial applications.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking applications (i.e.. Jira)
  • Knowledge of Automation frameworks (i.e. Selenium, Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Familiarity with at least one web test automation framework (Selenium, Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
