Pay Range:

$22.90 - $34.35

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent with public contact experience. Security, fire, or military experience preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: applicable state driver's license, valid with no restrictions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs activity as specified by Security Services administration to support Medical Center security functions. 2. Provides service to help protect against property loss. 3. Assesses activity patterns to determine appropriate security intervention and processes. 4. Maintains security of high-risk processes and loss of sensitive property. 5. Follows established precautions, protocols, and standard operating procedures. 6. Attends all required JCAHO and department training. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to complete successful generic and department specific skills validation and competency training Ability to communicate professionally Ability to make independent decisions with little involvement of the supervisor Demonstrates problem-solving skills Ability to walk a distance of 2,500 feet (indoors, level surface) within 10 minutes without apparent physical difficulty Ability to ascend and descend four floors of stairs (86 steps) within 5 minutes without apparent physical difficulty Ability to lift a 100 lb. object a minimum of 12 inches from floor, holding for 5 seconds without apparent physical difficulty Ability to lift a 50 lb. object and move a minimum of 10 feet before contact with floor without apparent physical difficulty WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works a set schedule but may be called in to respond to staff shortages and emergencies Possible exposure to toxic chemicals or unpleasant odors Handles emergency and crisis situations Occasionally subject to irregular hours Walks in all weather conditions and on many different surfaces PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 0% 35% 65% to to to 35% 65% 100% N/A Activity X Standing X Walking X Sitting X Bending X Reaching with arms X Finger and hand dexterity X Talking X Hearing X Seeing Lifting, carrying, pushing and or pulling: X 20 lbs. maximum X 50 lbs. maximum X 100 lbs. maximum
