The Opportunity/Role 📢

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our team in Huntingdon, Cambs. Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for

providing daily leadership, coaching and mentoring to the Manufacturing Teams. You will create and maintain a culture of Continuous Improvement with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Sustainability.

Key Deliverables will include:

  • Health & Safety – Take personal ownership and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering the Site Safety Roadmap.

  • Leadership/People Development – Provide leadership and development to a team of Shift Managers and Department Team Leaders.

  • Drive Performance - Accountable for the creation, monitoring and delivery of all Manufacturing KPI’s across the site.

  • Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis - Lead and develop the team through rigorous Root Cause Analysis, implementing robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions).

  • Continuous Improvement - Promote a culture of world class basics, achieved through disciplined adherence to 5S principles. Lead weekly Gemba walk activity, coaching employees on 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Continuous Improvement, Flow, Problem Solving and other lean methods, techniques and processes.

  • Planning – adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

  • Cost control – Maintain a laser focus on cost control, determining the most cost-efficient methods of manufacture and managing the resource efficiently.

  • Performance Management – conduct disciplinary and grievance meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience of managing large teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • A solid understanding of Engineering principles, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma fundamentals and financial acumen.  

  • Demonstrable experience of creating and monitoring a suite of KPI’s to improve business operational results.

  • Experience of building and developing an effective team through coaching and mentoring
