THE POSITION: NEOGEN is looking for a Packaging Technician to join our Randolph, Wisconsin team. Compensation starts at $17.00 an hour with shift differentials and opportunity for overtime. Our Production Technicians in Randolph, Wisconsin work closely with team members to fill, package, label and palletize manufactured products.

First Shift:

  • Monday-Wednesday 6am-6pm
  • Thursday 6am-11:30am
  • 3 1/2 day weekends!

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Work as a team player to assist where needed
  • Meet set goals and rate standards daily
  • Perform tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Use good manufacturing procedures (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP) in the packaging of all products
  • Maintains the general cleanliness and organization of work areas using 6S lean processes
  • Identify materials to be packaged
  • Fill and package manufactured products in correct packaging components
  • Label and palletize packaged manufactured products
  • Prepare and label pails and lids as needed for business needs
  • Operate bucket cappers and taping machines as needed for packaging products
  • Identify pallet patterns and palletizes finished product
  • Utilizes Good Documentation Processes (GDP) to identify and record the amount of finished product per pallet
  • Operate material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Assist with maintaining organization of warehouse including physical inventory control as needed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Stamina to work 12 hour shifts 3.5 days per week and overtime as needed on Thursdays and/or Fridays
  • Report to work daily and on-time for scheduled workdays and shift times
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Committed to working and communicating in a team environment
  • Must communicate effectively with others by speaking, reading, and understanding written English and the ability to write legibly in English.

High school diploma, GED equivalent or applicable experience in a manufacturing environment. 

Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience working with packaging machinery, in a food or feed manufacturing facility for a minimum of six months.
