About you and this role

Dow is looking for Sr Asset Integrity Engineer to be in Chennai, India.

The Sr Asset Integrity Engineer/corrosion engineer / RBI analyst is trained and knowledgeable in corrosion principles, damage mechanism assessment and risk-based inspection principles.

Responsibilities

Identification and markup of corrosion loops and piping circuits (new and existing units) on PFD, PID.

Reviews inspection data and assists RBI evergreening or corrosion study validation. Implement/sustain thickness monitoring and inspection management programs.

Assists or manages implementation of RBI. Duties include:

  • Manages equipment and process data collection, which includes inspection history review.
  • Prepares data for corrosion study using PFD, equipment and process data.
  • Leads corrosion study.
  • Perform or oversee quality control checks of data to ensure accurate, efficient data import into RBI software.
  • Run and review initial risk calculations.
  • Develop inspection plans and review with plant personnel.
  • Assist with training plant personnel to run and maintain the program.

Assists with inspection and repair deferrals. Ensures that non-conformance reports (NCR) are created and tracked to completion for inspection findings and deficiencies.

Supports mechanical integrity compliance / gap closure projects. Provides End-of-Life equipment replacement recommendations. Performs fitness for service evaluations on equipment deficiencies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy/ Corrosion / Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of corrosion damage mechanisms (API 571) and metallurgy.
  • Working knowledge of stationary equipment inspection codes and standards (API 510, 570, 653, ASME B&PV Sec VIII and B31.3).
  • Working knowledge of NDE techniques.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with GE APM software (TM/IM/RBI).
  • Knowledge of API RP 580 and 581.
  • Knowledge of API 579, Fitness for service analysis.
