We’re looking for an experienced operations manager who can build and lead the Anti-Abuse team while also developing and executing on a strategy which integrates scaled operations to keep Snapchatters safe.  You will need to bring data consistency and quality to global practices, while being able to adjust quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of analysts responsible for the implementation of best practices, providing insight into spam and abuse patterns, identifying opportunities for research and development of abuse prevention strategies.

  • Continuously develop on our strategic vision to scale Anti-Abuse Operations, including but not limited to: constructing vendor strategy, expanding investigative capabilities through tooling improvements, and ensuring programmatic structures are designed to meet the growing needs of  the team. 

  • Anticipate project risks, effectively utilize escalation management tactics, negotiate with decision makers, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.

  • Uphold & lead high standards for project management & communications in various platforms (both written and verbal) for adversarial testing, defining roadmaps, executive research, measuring progress in key projects and presentation of in-depth investigative results to stakeholders. 

  • Provide support and process for other Snap teams, such as Spam & Abuse Engineering, Product, legal, and the Identity Operations team; able to drive effective collaboration and translate XFN team strategies to operational initiatives. 

  • Use data from various sources across Snap to inform decisions, support proposed solutions, and define prioritization of business needs; grows understanding of Snap infrastructure to empower team success & end-to-end business understanding.

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and abuse vectors; demonstrates robust ability to Cultivate Innovation across team & brainstorm resourceful ways of detecting and preventing emerging abuses.

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong familiarity with abuse vectors spanning account takeover, spam, and malicious apps.

  • Passion for exploring large data sets in the search for actionable intelligence that leads to the removal of bad actors and threats from the ecosystem. 

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to coach this in others.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain complex topics and recommendations in simple terms.

  • A detail-oriented individual with technical acumen, with the ability to influence and communicate within all levels of the organization.

  • A team player who’s willing to get their hands dirty and help where needed.

  • Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant program and/or operational leadership experience

  • Advanced Excel, Looker, Tableau or similar

  • Background in spam, abuse, safety, fraud, privacy, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field of study

  • SQL, Python, BigQuery, or similar programming

  • Experience growing and scaling a new or developing function within operations

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $144,000-$217,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $129,000-$194,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
