Senior Business Development Advisor:

We are looking for an experienced commercial real estate professional to help us grow and develop our company-controlled real estate assets for our retail and wholesale operations. Working within the framework of our strategies and processes, and guided by our values, you will partner with landlords, tenants, municipalities, operational groups and outsourced consultants to contribute to the delivery of the geographical network development plan and deliverables.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A post-secondary education in business or commerce, or equivalent work experience

  • Ten years of experience in commercial real estate, property management and development, including identification, purchasing, leasing, development and management of retail and wholesale sites

  • Fluent in written and spoken French and English – please submit your resume in French and English

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of property valuation and leasing principles and processes from both the tenant and landlord side, and municipal processes at various levels of government

  • Proven analytical skills to properly evaluate complex real estate investment scenarios

  • Strong communication skills among diverse groups and convey information and ideas in an inclusive, open, articulate and timely manner

  • Solid project management skills to facilitate the management and coordination of many internal and external partners and simultaneously occurring tasks

  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage the value of Petro-Canada’s offer to major commercial developers to secure best-in-market locations while achieving superior returns on the company’s investments in the channel

  • Identify high-value business opportunities, negotiate the terms and conditions, prepare inputs to the business case for senior management approval and champion projects through to successful completion

  • Lead negotiations in complex situations with provincial or municipal bodies and represent our rights and obligations to landlords and municipalities on both owned and leased assets

  • Contribute to the development of long-term network plans and strategies

  • Provide project management leadership to ensure complex projects are delivered accordingly to operational and financial plans

  • Review all public notices that impact the use, underlying value and rights associated with your projects

  • Secure long-term value creation of strategic company assets through facilitation of capital injections by securing the ability to re-develop or upgrade existing facilities

  • Develop a high value pipeline of opportunities and ensure capital is managed so return on investment is optimized within our strategy and project scope

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will be an individual contributor working primarily out of your home office based in the Greater Montreal Area, with the option to also use our local office

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

  • Regular business travel within Quebec and Ontario and occasional out of province travel, as required

  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
