The Application Support Engineer (Java/PHP) in the Enterprise Solution Department holds a critical position, acting as a technical backbone for the Loan Origination System (LOS) ecosystem. This role directly influences business agility by improving system security, reliability, and customer responsiveness. The Engineer will collaborate closely with Application Developers and Project Managers, providing expert-level production support and technical consultation across the entire System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to drive key system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Collaborate with team members and vendors to design and develop the Credit Operation System, ensuring adherence to internal IT standards and procedures.
- Ensure the continuous stability and high availability of the entire Loan Origination System (LOS) ecosystem through proactive support and in-depth troubleshooting & analytic skills.
- Conduct 24x7 troubleshooting and devise corrective plans for system errors.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to improve application development and support processes.
- Manage and complete tasks related to ITH (L2/L3 Support), IR (Incident Report), ACR (Application Change Request), and project tasks to ensure timely delivery.
- Managed and monitored vendor performance against defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for system uptime, incident response, and resolution times. Reviewed and negotiated scope changes, ensuring technical requirements were accurately reflected in vendor contracts.
- Served as the primary technical point of contact for escalated, critical issues (P1/P2) that required vendor involvement. Coordinated troubleshooting efforts between internal teams and vendor technical staff to drive timely resolution.
- Conduct/Support comprehensive testing, including VIT (Vendor Integration Testing), SIT (System Integration Testing), and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 3+ years in IT system development, with a preference for experience in the Financial Service/Banking Institution industry.
Technical Skills (Required)
- Programming Languages & Frameworks: Java, ASP.NET, PHP, C#.
- Web Technologies: HTML, JQuery, JavaScript, CSS.
- Databases: MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle.
- System Integration: Basic understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP) and how the LOS integrates with upstream/downstream banking systems (e.g., Core Banking, Credit Bureaus) with Json/XML content.
- Familiarity with Tools: Experience with MSSQL Management Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Postman.
