About the role

When millions of people run their businesses on what you ship, downtime isn’t a metric—it’s a broken promise. Reliability isn’t a team we page, but a standard we hold.

You’ll be building the systems that allow us to scale another 100x while maintaining the reliability that our users’ livelihoods depend on You’ll ship real outcomes with judgment, taste, and a steady hand under pressure.

What you'll do:

• Own uptime for payment rails processing billions.
• Make the secure path the easy path.
• Evolve data infrastructure using the latest tooling to spot fraud, monitor system health, and perform experiments.
• Reduce latency across our systems
• Accelerate deployments that help us ship confidently and frequently.
• Raise the reliability bar for the entire organization.
• Ship code that touches our Rails backend, data pipelines, and AWS cloud infrastructure

You'll thrive here if you

• Have scaled systems with serious traffic.
• Care about reliability but know when to ship the simple fix.
• Have strong systems fundamentals: databases, caching, load balancing, observability.
• Understand security in depth and maybe even enjoy reading about the latest CVEs.
• Can jump into Rails, Node, or Rust when needed.
• Take ownership from the root cause through permanent fix.
• Love digging into the metrics to solve problems
