What You Will Do:

  • Plan, communicate, train, and sell sucker rods within a defined region.

  • Maintain excellent customer relationships while striving to expand market share and achieve profit goals.

  • Maintain assigned customer accounts at their present locations.

  • Maintain relationships with major existing or potential customers.

  • Assist area manager with training customers on product use.

  • Assist area manager in preparing annual operating expense budget within defined region.

  • Inform area manager of new product opportunities.

  • Prepare sales objectives and expense control goals.

  • Assist sales director in preparation of yearly sales forecast.

  • Knows and enforces compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Drives and contributes to the department’s continuous improvement culture.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all matters.

  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four year college or university degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or 5 years equivalent education and/or experience.

  • Valid driver's license in state of residence.

  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role.

  • Two years outside sales experience in down hole oilfield equipment

  • Ability to travel up to 40% as required by sales/service calls

Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Ability to learn quickly while adapting to ever changing customer needs

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service

Physical Demands:  

  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

  • Employee is required to regularly walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.

  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.

Work Environment:

  • Some work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • Work will include regular visits to customer office or field locations.

  • Work normally is executed in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • Work will require visits to customer field locations in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.
